Alexandra Eid, MD is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the George Washington University. She is board-certified in Neurology, Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology. Dr. Eid earned her Bachelor’s degree with Distinction in Biology with a minor in Psychology (2012) and her medical degree (2016) from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. She then spent a year as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the George Washington University during which her focus was on a trial using deep brain stimulation for refractory epilepsy. Subsequently, she completed her Neurology residency at the University of Chicago (2021) where she served as a Chief Resident, followed by fellowships in Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology at the George Washington University (2023).Dr. Eid specializes in the treatment of seizures and epilepsy. Her main interests are in refractory epilepsy and neuromodulation (using electrical stimulation devices for treatment of seizures), as well as in medical education. She is committed to patient care, education, and research, and to providing the best patient-centered care to adults with epilepsy while helping them navigate the intricacies of the disease and its treatments.Dr. Eid is fluent in English, French and Arabic.
